ONDO Story

Ornamental Indonesia (ONDO) began in 2016—a simple journey that began with a hobby and love for aquascaping and terrariums. At that time, we only sold aquascape roots individually, photographed by hand, and then marketed them through Facebook and Instagram. Each product was hand-curated, every photo was carefully taken, and every interaction with customers felt deeply personal.

Entering 2017, Ondofish began to grow. We went beyond social media and began selling ornamental aquascape plants through marketplaces and Bukalapak. Our customers grew, and demand continued to rise.

In 2018, we took a major step: producing our own plants. We began partnering with several farmers in the Gunung Bunder area of ​​Bogor, as well as with farmers and plant hunters from various regions in Indonesia. This partnership opened up new opportunities—improved quality, more stable production, and at the same time, we contributed to improving the welfare of local farmers. That same year, we also began producing our own ornamental shrimp, expanding our product catalog and strengthening Ondofish’s position in the aquascaping world.

2025 marks a significant milestone. Ondofish was entrusted with collaborating with an ornamental fish exporter, a significant opportunity that took us to the next level. Not only did we supply ornamental fish, but we were also mandated to handle production and export-standard packaging services. This trust is proof that the long journey since 2016—from photographing individual roots to establishing our own cultivation system—has paid off.

Ornamental Indonesia continues to grow as a local brand committed to providing the best quality, collaborating with local farmers, and revitalizing the Indonesian aquascape and ornamental fish ecosystem in the global market.
